  • Arts Week begins

    Thu 28 Jun 2018

Our annual arts week began with a huge disco on the playground first thing Monday morning as parents and pupils arrived to school. We had hits from across the decades as this years theme is ‘Dancing through the decades’. Our first assembly of the week explored dance moves from the decades, from the Charleston of the 20’s, to the Twist of the 60’s and the Running Man of the 90’s. We had helpful demonstrations from pupils across different year groups. We have incorporated some of these moves in our whole school song and dance for our performance on Friday – make sure you look at for them mums and dads!

  • Arts Week Day 2: Fashion

    Thu 28 Jun 2018

Day 2 of Arts week focused on fashion through the decades. We were very lucky to have a special visit from Sarah Beesley who is a television and theatre make up and special effects artist and costume designer. She talked us through the fashion, hair and make up of the last 100 years, with help from some very special models. Back in class all pupils designed their own costume for their decades and learnt how fashion designers plan, design and create clothing, shoes and handbags. Year 6 had a very special 1920’s make up and special effects workshop with Sarah. We would like to say a MASSIVE thank you to Sarah for inspiring us all today!

  • A visit from St Anne’s Hospice

    Fri 25 May 2018

On Friday, we welcomed Mrs Johnson – a worker from St Anne’s Hospice. Mr Johnson began by giving a brief history in to her associations with the hospice.

She then told the children about the importance of the hospice; and how we too can help with it regarding charity work and raising money to help towards the funding/running of it.

We ended the session with a question and answer session – with the questions being taken from our RE lesson.

The children gained a real insight in to the importance of the hospice, and the hard work that the people put in to it.

To help with the fundraising, the hospice is holding a Summer Fair on Sunday 24th June at 12 noon – 3pm at St Anne’s Hospice, Little Hulton.
