One of our favourite moves is a cannon. We have enjoyed planning our own dance moves and sharing them with the class for peer evaluation.

  • Year 5 Assembly – Memorial Sacrifice

    Sat 16 Feb 2019

The final assembly of the term was Year 5 and we discussed our latest theme – Memorial Sacrifice. When Jesus spoke to his friends at the Last Supper he left them a vivid memory of what He was about to undertake to save us. The image of the Supper is still used today in the Eucharist as a memory of his great sacrifice.

Year 5 discussed this brilliantly and also spoke about some precious objects that act as memories for them about special people within their lives and those of their families.

It was a really excellent assembly and all the children spoke clearly and sang their hearts out!

    Fri 15 Feb 2019

Year 2 have spent the last few weeks learning about Space and this week wrote some amazing non fiction reports about astronauts. We included non fiction features such as headings, sub headings, labelled diagrams, captions and some sensational space facts! As they were so good we wanted to share them with the early years children as they had also been learning about space recently too. The children really enjoyed sharing their work.

From dancers to singers, gymnasts to comedians there was something for everyone. The show was organised, presented and performed by our pupils and members of our School Arts Council, who all did a wonderful job. We are so proud that many children found the courage to take part and the audience were so supportive. Well done to everyone who took part you are all winners!

    Thu 07 Feb 2019

Year 5 enjoyed another hockey lesson with Mr Worrall & Mr Chadwick today. Over the term the children have really improved with their dribbling, control, passing and movement. We have moved on each week from the basics to competitive games between teams which are played in the best spirit and really enjoyed by all players.

The children aren’t so sure about Mr Chadwick’s running commentary though…

  • NSPCC Number Day in Year 4

    Fri 01 Feb 2019

Number Day is a maths-inspired fundraising day for children in nursery right through to secondary school.

The children were set homework to design and make a mathematics related game that could be played on Number Day. The children then played each others games and had a thoroughly enjoyable time doing so.

Funds raised from ‘Number Day’ will help support vital NSPCC services such as ‘Speak out. Stay Safe’ which visits primary schools across the UK to teach children about the dangers of abuse and what they can do if they need help.
