Relationships and Sex Education (RSE)

In RSE, children at St Mary’s will learn about their spiritual, social, moral, emotional and physical development in ways appropriate to their age, level of maturity and developmental needs. We promote and teach the importance of love for relationships, including love’s sexual expression in marriage. The teaching of sex, sexuality and sexual health will be placed in the context of Catholic Church teaching.

We will be delivering our RSE lessons during the summer term to all year groups, using the Life to the Full programme which has been produced by Ten:Ten Resources.

Life to the Full is based on the structure of the Model Primary RSE Curriculum from the Catholic Education Service, which is used as the basis for our lessons and resources. Life to the Full is also an ever-evolving programme, responding to schools’ current needs and new guidance from the DFE.
