  • Cross Country Results – Salford METS Race 1

    Mon 24 Sep 2018

What a race! We had twenty runner attending the first race on Saturday and every single one performed brilliantly. From experienced runners to first timers – a few got lost and all of them achieved excellent times and places. In the boys race there were over 80 runners and over 70 for the girls races. Bearing in mind this is usually a race for Year 6 (but anyone from Year 3 upwards can attend) some of the placing for our younger athletes was simply fantastic.

We had some very notable runner in the top 10 – Gabriel taking the winning time (even after going the wrong way)  followed very closely by Oscar & Kian.

In the girls race there was a fantastic top 10 finish

for Imogen and great support from the rest of the squad with a very special mention for Orla (in her first race) coming a brilliant 57th against Year 6 opposition.

Well done to you all also in tonight’s new look training session. The next race is back at Salford METS this Saturday 29th September – start time for the girls is 10 am and the boys at 10.15 am. Please arrive by 9.45 am for registration and a warm up.

  • National Teaching Assistants Day!

    Fri 14 Sep 2018

Today is National Teaching Assistants Day so we held a SURPRISE Tea Party for all our TA’s at St Mary’s! Where would we be without our TA’s? They’re worth their weight in gold! We wanted to show our appreciation and give them a little treat…I think they enjoyed the break! Thank you for all your hard work and dedication to our pupils and teachers!

  • World Gymnastics

    Wed 12 Sep 2018

Year 5 enjoyed their first gymnastics lesson today and surprised the new coach with the amount that they had already learned from previous sessions. They resembled an experienced Olympic team happily stretching those muscles in the warm-ups (with only a few groans) and then starting on the main activities.

An excellent session with some star performers in there. Roll on next week!

  • Cross Country Training – Every Monday 3.30 – 4.30pm

    Mon 10 Sep 2018

As expected, we have had a great response for the Cross Country Squad with lots of new and established names signing up. Training will now take place, EVERY Monday (weather permitting) after school – 3.30 – 4.30.

We had the first session today and a tired bunch of children left afterwards. We’ve only one more training session before the first Salford METS race on Saturday 22nd. Hopefully we shall see more of the squad there next Monday.

Please ensure your child has running trainers for the session as pumps on damp grass can be an injury hazard.

Well done tonight and see you next Monday evening.
