Year 6 Map out the story of World War II in Europe

As part of our Second World War History topic, Year 6 have been using atlases and maps to plot out the story of World War II in Europe.  We looked at how things changed between the years of 1939, 1940 and 1941, and then again at the time of the D-Day landings in 1944 and at the end of the war in May 1945.  Children used a key with different colours to indicate those countries that were invaded near the start of the war, those countries that joined forces with Germany, and those countries that were taken back by the allied forces later in the war.
