Year 6 – Forest School – Den Building

The Year 6 children were set a challenge today. Creating the atmosphere they had been walking in the wilderness when suddenly they had lost track of time. The sun was going down and night was falling. They desperately needed to get some form of shelter built before the cold and rain may have come.

 

Using some tarps, lengths of rope, wooden sticks, branches and whatever else the children could find they had forty minutes to create their dens. With some fantastic teamwork, bartering for items to use and the odd raids on other groups they all created some great dens.

 

This involved absolutely no help from adults and was all the children’s own work. Well done all of Year 6.
