White Water Rapids

One of the most enjoyable activities at Lledr is the canoeing. Some of the children may be quite scared at first and the rocking of the boat certainly doesn’t help but by the end of the session almost all of them are ready for the Round The World Yacht Race. A few gentle reminders about which hands to use on the paddles and reassurance that their body warmers are actually buoyancy aids and they’re off. We have them doing 360 degree turns against each other, changing boats and then final races around the pond. Fortunately this year there were no shouts of ‘Man Overboard!’
