Where am I?
We give the children a map of the grounds and twelve markers that they have to find. They have a small map reading session and then a few tips and they are off. They burst out of the classroom, run around like headless chickens for a few minutes before getting into the swing of things and hunting for those twelve points. All of the children work really well together (a common theme of the weekend) but still haven’t realised that shouting, “I’ve found one!” brings everybody else running to where they are! Every time we do the orienteering course the staff purposely leave out the warning of the swamp (not very deep and not quicksand) near three of the markers. It is a cruel way for the staff to have a chuckle and maybe a sweepstake to see who runs into it first. The prize for 2019 goes to Fabiana!
