Stonehenge Construction
Year 3 are nearing the end of our study into the Stone Age period. This week we looked at the start and end of the Bronze Age and how one of the world’s most famous historical sites was also completed.
After researching Stonehenge and the possible reasons for it’s creation we decided that, budding Stone Age builders that we are, it was a good idea to build a copy.
As we couldn’t use Sarsen Stones or the Bluestones from Wales as the original had we decided that biscuits was our way forward. Some of the creations worked where some were really difficult to complete. It gave us an insight into how hard it must have been for the people of the Stone Age who only had muscles, ropes and the occasional barge to help.
