Stone Age Rambles
In their History lessons the children discovered exciting facts about the Stone Age to Iron Age. Clearly they have embraced it because their knowledge was fantastic about the vast time period. To build on this learning we took a lovely walk, after Church, up to the Neolithic Burial Site of Capel Garmon which was in use almost 4000 years ago.
We discovered that even after the Bronze Age settlers in the area had ceased to use the site, the Romans took it over and used it for their purposes. We’re not sure if it was a reenactment or the children are just very tired because they decided to try the site on for size, lay down and pretended to play dead. Some, we think, were using it as an excuse for a quick nap!
After learning about the site and the area the children decided there should be a battle between Bronze and Stone Age settlers with the final outcome….
….a draw!
