Cross Country Stars
The final race in the Salford Schools Championship was at Buile Hill last Saturday. It was a really good turn out and again the athletes have excelled and shown such progression from when we started training. Over 20 runners attended almost every training session and the seven races this year which is fantastic. These children have shown great tenacity, dedication and enthusiasm in every training session to race. Some of the races were run in Arctic weather conditions but still they braved it. So a big thank you from Mr Chadwick to all the parents and Miss Crawshaw who was invaluable in stepping in and coordinating races on her own at times and without her the children may not have been able to race..
We must also be proud of two of our Year 5 runners, Ashlee Freilinger and Gabriel McComb who came Second overall in their respective categories. They have now been chosen to represent Salford School in the Greater Manchester Championship on the 3rd February at Heaton Park – First race starts at 11am. It is a great achievement for both Ashlee and Gabriel as they only started running in the club last year. Well done to you both and if you would like to join in supporting them both we’ll see you on the 3rd
