Cross Country Season Ends

Another season comes to an end and the St Mary's Cross Country Squad keeps on running. 

This year has seen, quite possibly, two of the coldest Saturdays but Miss Crawshaw and Mr Chadwick cannot help but praise the dedication of the children (and their hardy parents) as they turned out for each race and truly ran their hearts out.

At training on Mondays we had lots of athletes really enjoying the sessions and throwing all their efforts into improving their speed and stamina and it showed as the season progressed and the runners improved their rankings at the races.

The squad lost quite a few runners last year but these were replaced with the current Year 3 crew who made up the bulk of the squad. Of course here at St Mary's we promote sporting participation and we love winners but equally we love those who try their best and do it with a smile on their faces.

So a very big thank you to all the runners who came to all the training sessions and the races - Faye, Hollie, Sophie, Thomas, Louie, Oscar, Olivia, Orla, Isabella, Mariella, Ava, Isabelle, Seren, Neiva, Summer, Alfie & Jakub. 

Training will start again in September for next season and hopefully with everyone moving up an age group we will be even more successful. Thanks again to all the parents for giving up those early Saturday mornings and bracing the inclement weather that Manchester and Salford seem to throw at us on race days.
