Arts Week – Asia
Continuing the World Tour through Arts the class journeyed through Asia on Tuesday. As we will be researching the Indus Valley Civilisation we decided to create pottery similar to those found at the ancient archaeological sites of Harappa and Mohenjo Daro. The children got their hands dirty with the clay and etched in their own designs.
We then went even calmer and looked at the history of Rangoli patterns and with relaxing music on painted our pictures.
The perfect accompaniment on world travels is none other than a set of top trumps. The children researched animals of Asia and then created their own top trumps with the added bonus of a special feature animal that they have imagined, named and drawn! The bonus card.
