World Mental Health Day Assembly - Year 5

Year 5 had a wonderful first assembly of the new academic year and spoke to the school and parents about the impoptance of Mental Health.

World Mental Health Day is celebrated on October 10th which is on Friday and it aims to raise awareness of mental health issues around the world, promote discussion about feelings and emotions and encourage us to think about how we can support our own and others’ mental health.

The children spoke about when we feel happy, healthy and content, we have positive wellbeing and explain how important good Mental Health is for us in today’s world.

The children gave some great top tips in how to improve our mental health and wellbeing so we are absolutely ready to face the world each day.

The children know that our state of wellbeing affects how we cope with stress, relate to others and make choices. It also plays a part in our relationships with family, community and of course friends.

Mental health is important for everyone, whether we’re a pupil, parent, family member or a teacher. Being kind to others  and talking about our feelings can help us feel so much better.

Well done Year 5 for a lovely assembly and they have promised to keep an eye on each other, their parents and all the children around the school.

Remember, it is always OK to ask for help.
