House Celebration Day
✝️ Today we celebrated our school houses - Fatima 💛, Knock 💚, Lourdes 💙 and Walsingham ❤️.
The children completed fact files, composed prayers and had great fun taking part in team-building games. They have all earned so many extra ‘house points’! ✝️
Fatima
Our Lady of Fátima is the title given to the Virgin Mary as she appeared before three shepherd children near the village of Fátima, Portugal, in 1917.
Knock
In 1879 at the Shrine in Knock, a heavenly Apparition occurred. Our Lady appeared, in the company of St. Joseph and St. John. Unlike other Marian apparitions, the figures remained silent for about two hours, and although it rained heavily, the location of the vision remained dry.
Lourdes
The Lourdes Apparitions were a series of 18 visions of the Virgin Mary, in the Grotto in France. During these encounters, Our Lady identified herself as the "Immaculate Conception" and directed Bernadette to the grotto's spring.
Walsingham
The Walsingham Apparition refers to the Marian apparitions to Richeldis de Faverches in 1061, where the Virgin Mary showed her the House of the Annunciation in Nazareth and asked her to build a replica in Walsingham, Norfolk, England, as a place of pilgrimage and devotion.
