News from Year 1
Year 1 have had a very enjoyable term . Take a look at what we have been up to.
Literacy:
We have been focusing on instructions. We made snowmen out of play doh and paper snowflakes and then wrote instructions on how to make them.
Lilly. ‘I’m having fun making the snowman now I can write instructions to make a snowman’ Sophia ‘ my mum tells me to brush my teeth, that’s a bossy instruction’ Matthew , ‘ I liked acting out the bossy instructions.’
Food Tech:
We have made lots of nice healthy snacks with Mrs. Lenihan. Look at our tasty fruit Kebabs and biscuits. Yum!
Numeracy:
We can now tell o’clock times. We know dinner time is 12’ o clock. We have enjoyed making appointment cards for teachers. Year 1 also learnt a great days of the week song and made beautiful days of the week paper chains.
Science.
Year 1 have been very busy investigating Push and Pull forces. We investigated which forces we use and then recorded our findings. Can you guess what force we are using?
