PTA Bring & Buy Sale and Coffee Afternoon

A great big thank you to all those who helped to make this half-term's PTA fundraising event a roaring success! Once again you were very generous at sending in items for the sale. A wide range of fantastic gifts were donated as well as lots of wonderful cakes.

Doors opened at 2.45pm and customers were delighted with the great offers. There was a steady stream of customers throughout the event and once again by hometime the hall was packed with parents, grandparents and children enjoying both the bargains available and the delicious tea and cakes.

Uniform Sale

School uniform will be on sale in the school hall on Wednesday 10th March at 3.30pm. If you can't make this date then please collect a form from outside the school office and return to school in an envelope with the correct payment enclosed.

Fashion show modelsSt Mary’s PTA would like to say a really big thank you to all the children who modelled at the fashion show in November. They were all brilliant and the people from Clothes Horse Kids commented on what well behaved children we had at St. Mary's. Also thank you to all the parents/grandparents who supported the event and made it a great success. We raised £450 altogether for PTA funds.

Get involved and help your school!!

We are very fortunate at our school to have a PTA that is an integral part of the school community. In it's time the PTA has raised thousands of pounds, which has been spent on improving equipment and resources to enhance our children’s education and the facilities of school in general.

But it is more than just fundraising. The PTA exists to provide closer links between home and school. We are very conscious of the ethos and morals of our school and we try hard to respect them in organizing events

Our PTA committee consists of four officers (Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer and Secretary).
Our current committee is Chair- Sandra Horton, Vice Chair – x, Treasurer – Paul Moore and Secretary – Annette Downes.

We Meet on a regular basis usually once every 2 months for very informal meetings which are open to all our members. Every parent of every child is automatically a member.

As in most schools, the majority of our funds are raised through the events that we run.

In the main the PTA funds are for the "extras" not provided by the school budget that make our children's learning experiences more fulfilling and exciting.

The PTA also funds other activities for the children

How do you get information?

We send out regular newsletters giving dates of P.T.A meetings, forthcoming events and requests for help. These will be brought home by your children..

There is a committee of 4 officers, but the committee alone cannot run the events we hold over the year.

So how can you help?

There are lots of ways you can help support your child through the PTA.
Offering to help before, during or after events during the year is so invaluable - it really is the case that many hands make light work
You can attend our meetings and give us ideas for fundraising, let us know if you have any contacts or skills we could use, or simply come and listen.

Thank You
