Drama Club

Drama club takes place weekly for KS2, with Mrs Murphy. We have been learning about acting skills, including body language, using our voice, mime, and acting for physical theatre. We have also been looking at different types of theatres and their layout, as well as using costume and props.

Recently our Year 6 pupils have been developing their own character and creating a profile for them. We then plan to use these characters in a variety of scenes to build our own play. We really enjoy our warm up games and working with friends from different classes.

St Mary’s choir meet weekly with Mrs Murphy to rehearse a variety of songs including hymns, musical numbers, modern day pop song and songs from other cultures. We enjoy our regular performances for the community and our local parish, at our local church and The Fountains nursing home. Throughout the year we take part in special concerts and joint performances with other schools, including Salford’s Big Sing Concert.

Guitar Lessons

Pupils from Year 2 to KS2 have the opportunity to have guitar lessons with the MAPAS service.
